Camera is fixed (and other news)

We finally got our camera back from the repair shop. I am glad because Matilda is growing like a weed and it would be a shame to miss out on anymore photo opportunities.

Matilda is now a little over 2 months old and at her last 'well baby' visit, she weighed 10 lbs, 11 oz. Matilda is quite healthy and happy. She started smiling at us a while ago but this is probably the first photo of her smiling. She enjoys attention. If it were up to her, we would hold her all the time. She is such a good baby and we all love her so very much.

Duane will be going to Europe again. He will spend some time in London and then finish his trip up in Spain. He has been quite busy with work and just recently had a surgery for his deviated septum. He is recovering quite well.

Ariel is finishing up her senior year of high school and preparing for BYU. We are all very excited for her.

Mayah is finishing up preschool and we have just been informed that she will be able to attend Kindergarten next year. She is reading a lot these days. She is very good at it. She is also quite good at spelling and her writing is quite good for someone her age. We are so proud of her.

Malia is still as silly as ever. She has started mocking me lately and as irritating as it is, she is quite cute. I find it difficult to keep a straight face when she is talking back to me. She spends a lot of time on the pink chair these days (the pink chair is our 'time out' chair). I don't think she minds being on the chair so long as she gets her chance to tell me what she thinks about being punished. I know I am in for it when she reaches her teen years.

I am still keeping myself busy by taking care of everyone but I read a lot during my spare time. I would appreciate some book suggestions as I will be doing some traveling this summer and I would like to have a long list of books to read. Anyway, leave your suggestions in the comments section! Thanks!

My goodness! I can see a lot of Duane in Matilda. She is so precious!

As for books? Well, I honestly don't know what kind of books you like...

If you liked the Harry Potter books (and other mystical world like books) then I would suggest the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. Easy read, simpler plot (than HP), and fairly short. There are three of them so far.

If you are into LDS fiction but not necessarily love stories, I would suggest "The Great And Terrible" series by Chris Stewart.

If you want a thinker try "The Alchemist" from Paulo Coelho.

And if you haven't yet done so, check out the Chronicles of Narnia. It's fascinating how it parallels Christianity. And they are easy to read.

Just some of my latest reads. Can't wait to see you!

Penny,

I am currently reading one called "Jemima J." that you might like. I also just read one called "Girl in Hyacinth Blue" that was also a good read, especially if you have to read it a chapter at a time. Check out the Goodreads as always. :)

I am glad to see pics of that cutie!!! Wow Matilda does look alot like Duane, I would have to agree. I hope all is well! I would love to be doing some reading too. Right now I am reading Twilight. But I have on my list the Harry Potter series and the other Chronicles of Narnia as well. I have a list. I will have to check it out and post back later. Again, hope all is well!!

Okay, Matilda looks sooo much like Duane! She is looking so big and alert and happy. All the other pictures I've seen of her she is really sleepy. What a cute naked baby! I haven't really been reading much. Last book I read was Kite Runner. It was really good and I recommend it.

Oh goodness. You will have your hands full with Malia.
A good random read is called "Husbandry". I don't recall the author's name but it's a collection of essays, written by a man about men, and it's pretty funny.
