So, a funny (???) thing happened...

Okay, so, Duane and I went out on a (real) date tonight because his parents are in town and wanted to give us a date night before they left (By-the-way, thanks Lee and Marilyn).

So...

We went to the Temple and then we went a restaurant afterward. The former was nice, as it always is. The latter was...hilarious? Maybe?

As you can tell, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about our time at the restaurant. The food wasn't the problem. Actually, the food was quite good as we were at a nice sushi restaurant. It was the insane girl fight that broke out in the middle of the restaurant while we were eating that has me amused/semi-horrified.

First things first: Everyone knows that girl fights are vicious. Because girls are mean. Really, really mean. And, they (we) love pulling hair, scratching, punching, kicking and spitting. They (we) also like to get the last word (read: punch/kick) in edge-wise. So, girl fights can last a while if no one intervenes.

Aaaand, apparently things get worse when alcohol is involved.

Yes, that's right, we witnessed a full-blown drunken cat-fight while we were eating (dinner and a show!!!).

girl fight ya dig Pictures, Images and Photos

These girls were so loud/wild, everyone in the restaurant watched. Even the kitchen staff came out of the kitchen to gawk. At one point, a server yelled "Call The Police!" at one of her colleagues.

I don't know if the cops were called because they didn't show up. At all.

Eventually the fight traveled to the lobby/waiting area and that's when things escalated (read: got more ridiculous). You see, that's when one of the girls got her hands on a long (-ish) bamboo pole and started beating the other girl with it. I don't know if that would actually hurt since bamboo is hollow, but the girl was swinging with all her might, so...yeah.

Just so you all know, this was a proper girl-fight. There was screaming, biting, punching, kicking, hair-pulling, and name calling.

It was...AWESOME!

That's awesome, funny, and silly (read stupid) all at the same time. Stupid as in... who does that? I can't imagine fighting in the middle of a restuarant. How old were these girls? I hope they were 15, not 35.

Darn it! Why does all the fun stuff happen to you?! :) That is pretty funny (and yet horrifying at the same time...). I am also assuming that they were the ones drinking- meaning they were at least 21. Wow. Thanks for sharing!

As sick as I get when I see men getting rough, I get equally amused when it is two girls. I had a front row seat to a girl fight in high school and I nearly peed my pants from laughing so hard. And I am NOT kidding about almost peeing my pants, it was a close one.

wow, I sure do miss good ole Detroit! Why did no one bother to break it up? They could have at least broken it up long enough to get them out of the restraunt so they could kill each other in the parking lot.

i'm wondering how it ended? did they just tire out or did one succeed in actually killing the other one?

okay, i am laughing hysterically at your description of the fight. that sounded so funny. I can't believe no one intervened and that it kept going into the lobby. I guess that's one thing about living in Detroit. You are more likely to witness something like that. :)
