Um...

I saw the movie early this morning. It was...um...uh...

So, I had a lot of fun with my friends. Really, I did. Plus, we went out to eat at J. Alexanders before going to the theater and the food was really good. I ordered some good chocolate cake and shared it with-

...Okay, I'll stop avoiding the subject.

Truth is, I found it incredibly funny (but only when it wasn't supposed to be funny). I laughed quite a bit - more then is acceptable at a movie about vampires. I did try to keep my giggles under wraps though. Really, I did. Luckily, I had a REALLY bored teenage boy to my right and an equally amused fan (a friend of a friend) to my left, so they didn't mind my giggles. At all.

In fact, they were laughing, too.

My friends liked the movie, though, which I think is cool (I really mean this).

A few things about the movie (don't worry, I don't give away any major details. And if you have read the book you already know whats going to happen anyway, so...):

1. Let's just say it's a lot like Breaking Dawn - either you love it or you hate it.

2. Edward is a bit of a 'close talker'.

3. Jacob Black has incredibly white teeth. Like, REALLY white. It's distracting (Think Ross from that episode of 'Friends' - You know which one I'm talking about).

4. Whoever did the makeup for Carlisle went a little pancake-happy on him. He looks like an albino. It's incredibly distracting. He's almost whiter then Jacob Black's teeth. Almost.

5. My friends said Stephenie Meyer is actually in the movie (but I didn't notice since I was busy laughing), so keep an eye out. Apparently she's in the background somewhere (In the cafe...but there are a few cafe scenes. I think they said it's in the second cafe scene...I can't remember).

6. I think the actor that plays James is far better looking then Robert Pattinson and I'm not the kind of girl that likes long hair on a guy.

7. The actress that plays Victoria is cool. Perfect for the role, actually.

8. Jasper reminds me of Edward Scissor-hands, without the scissor-hands. You'll see what I mean when you see the movie.

9. The cinematography is odd.

10. Special-effects are...um...not so special.

11. The Director didn't know how to direct.

12. Actors didn't know how to act (actually, I think it was the directing, not the acting. I think)

13. The majority of people really seemed to like the movie...

14. ...I was in the minority. : (

(seriously, I am sad about that)

Don't worry. Like I said, a lot of people liked the movie. I'm just incredibly picky when it comes to movies ('Incredibly picky' is an understatement. Let's just say I've seen far too many movies for my own good).

You know, I love the books. I am not obsessed with them by any stretch of the imagination, but I do love them. All 4. But this movie? I am seriously NOT at all excited to even see it. I think Edward is ugly. And not cute. And not a great actor, and well UGLY! And Don't EVEN get me started on Bella's acting skills... Seriously. I haven't seen it, and I will most likely see it when it comes out on video, but I never did get excited by the teasers. The trailers were okay, but not great. All in all, Your review seems to be exactly what I expected. And yes- Jasper looks a lot like Edward Scissor Hands (sans scissors).

I'm seeing it tomorrow. I'm excited to see if I agree with you on anything. :)

I leave to see it in 10 minutes! But I'm glad to hear your review because it helps me even more to not get my hopes up. I think I'll still enjoy it, heck, I liked BD. ;)

My biggest concern is, one of the girls going with us to see it, hasn't read the books. *eeks* I hope she likes it. :S

Penny. I love you. You are certainly not the only person who laughed. In fact, most of the theater was laughing when I saw it. And it was clear there were many a husband (or significant other) mocking it and mocking their wives' obsessions. Can't say that I'm surprised. I have to say that I don't see it going over well with people who haven't read the book but it's so hard to be subjective on that. Honestly, I think that the biggest problem is that it's an indie flick. I think people have forgotten that because it has gotten so much hype (only because of the fans) and indie films don't usually get that. I think that if you go to the movie with the mindset of going to see an independent, low budget film then your experience would be a lot different.
And I didn't even notice Jacob's teeth. I was too distracted by his and Bella's dads' weird behavior.

And, yes, Stephenie is very blantantly in the film. When they are at the diner- just before the discussion about the killings. The waitress serves her sitting at the counter. It's practically a close up of Stephenie and I'm pretty sure the waitress even says "Here you are Stephenie."

sigh. Maybe I should've done my own blog on it all.

i am happy the movie sucked. this way i will not be the only one hated and stoned to death by loyal twilight fans when i end up agreeing with you on everything and openly admiting it to them. seriously people think i am crazy when i say i didn't like twighlight or the rest of the series. they stare at me dumbly like i must have some defect that prevents me from seeing how amazing they are and how great stephanie meyer is for writing them. twighlight is ruining my life :(

LOL! I loved this post. I feel EXACTLY the same way! You're the only other person I 'know' who noticed Jacob's insanely white teeth! I couldn't stop laughing either. I did think it was cheesy, but I still liked it. I stopped by through Daily Scoop and I'm glad I did!
