Barak Obama is the next President. Fine. Whatever. I'll live (I think).
I was not a huge fan of McCain, but I voted for McCain because I couldn't in good conscience vote for Obama (no matter how much Duane was campaigning for him). No, I'm not racist, so please don't go there. Heck, I'm hardly even a Republican. I just don't believe Obama has it in him to lead this country in the right direction (quite frankly, I'm frightened about what he plans on doing) and there is so much about Obama's background that SCARES me.
I guess I can be happy for the African American community. They're super excited. That's cool (I'm not being sarcastic here).
It's too bad that McCain didn't win. I was looking forward to seeing him go 'Double Maverick' on everyone. Oh well...

yeah... there's a lot about his past and background that scares the crap out of me, too. but i'm going to try to be open-minded about it and i'm curious to see where our country goes in the next 4 years. i'm not optimistic by any means.
Yeah, unfortunately, I just really don't trust him much. I don't agree with him much. I am seriously concerned by his history and past associations. I don't believe all of his votes were because people truly believed he would be a good president; I think some (not all) were soley because of his race. (And I'm not being racist either; I think that having a black president is great, but that isn't a good enough reason to elect someone in my book.) And now we're going to have a president who, in my opinion, is not ready to lead our country. :S
But, it is what it is. He has been elected and all we can do is pray for our country now, and pray for our leaders, including praying for Obama as our president, to make the right decisions for us. And I think it's more important than ever for us to be actively involved in what we believe is right.
P.S. I thought that sketch with McCain was great! I had only seen a small part of it before. lol
i feel lots the same way! seriously, i was reading that and nodding my head.
it was a little scary thinking about putting palin in the white house, though. i had a hard time placing that little "x" next to her name on the ballot!
